Video Game Monetization Strategies, Chris Cobb
GD 201- For Heavens Sake » Devlog
In the article by Chris Cobb, he introduces the concept of monetization to the audience and how it is different from being a non-paying player of a game to a paying player. According to the author, one point that he mentions in the article that had stood out to me was when cobb mentions the initial difference of paying players to nonpaying players " In this day and age, the rate at which a non-paying player earns content compared to the cost of the content is decent , where one can tell a non-paying player keeping up with the pace of a monetizing player ". This quote stuck out to me because its true. The author also talks about DLC this day in age and how it helps the company make money, especially during the multiplayer.
